Trash Truck: Low Stimulation Shows for Kids on Netflix

Not only is Trash Truck one of our new favorite shows, it is actually inspired by this book by the same name.

The book and the Netflix series are both written by Max Keane, making the Netflix series just as loveable and enjoyable as the book.

It’s easy to see why both the show and the books are so popular, as they have wholesome themes like friendship, environmental awareness, and problem-solving.

Puffin Rock is the epitome of a low stimulation, chill kid’s show.

It’s been a hit or miss in my house with kiddos under two so far, so let me know if you think this show is a better fit for kids a bit older than mine!

Friends of mine whose kids like the show RAVE about how family oriented, wholesome, and sweet this show is!

I also found this show recommended numerous times on toddler subreddits as their go-to “why are you awake at 5am” lifesaver show. 🤣

Sea of Love: Low Stimulation Shows for Kids on Netflix

A show your kids will love, especially if they like animals!

This show is kind of like a bite-sized, cuter version of Finding Nemo if it was low stim. 🐟🦈🐡

I like this sweet show for my kids because it has very gentle animations, calming underwater visuals, and tells the stories at a calm, relaxing pace.

Speaking of shows inspired by books, this show is literally a read-along where books come to life as they’re read to you!

The stories shared represent positive themes like friendship, kindness, manners, and positive values.

Octonauts: Low Stimulation Shows for Kids on Netflix

If you like Sea of Love but want to mix it up one day, give Octonauts a try!

Another great show that isn’t too stimulating and has a cute cast of likeable and friendly animal characters.

This show is about a team of ocean explorers, the Octonauts, going on adventures to help animals and creatures in need.

Althuogh, some say Octonauts can be a bit overstimulating for them because it does include some flashing visuals, more zoom ins and outs than they’d prefer, and high-energy dance breaks within the show.

If you decide Octonauts is too stimulating for you and your little ones, a great substitute that’s very similar and one of the best low stimulation kids shows would be Little Bear (although it’s not available on Netflix ☹️).

A silly, entertaining show that will have your kids giggling at all the slapstick comedy moments!

Spoiler alert: This show involves farting…often. lol

This show is all about a dinosaur family exploring their world in prehistoric times, and all the goofy characters and situations they run into along the way.

One drawback that causes some parents not to choose this show for their families is the excessive violent adjacent behaviors and crude humor.

This is one of those odd shows that adults probably won’t be interested in watching along with their kids, but it’ll definitely peak your kid’s interest!

It is a great show to put on for your kids while you’re doing the dishes because it has calming music with very few spoken words.

It’s also a wholesome show that focuses on simple themes like friendship, sharing, teamwork, problem solving, and other non-educational topics.

Pocoyo: Low Stimulation Shows for Kids on Netflix

This is a great show for little kids, toddlers, or preschoolers, but your older kids will probably be bored by this one.

It’s such a great option for low stimulating kids shows because the show has a plain, white background the whole time.

The main character is also a toddler himself, and the stories are simple, short, and moderately paced.
